Professional Experience
Lauri's passion lies in working with children, adolescents, and families. Her experience has been working with these populations on a variety of issues including trauma work, depressive symptoms, anxiety, self exploration and understanding how our thinking affects our feelings and behavior. Lauri has a unique lens in which she views children and adolescents. The use of this lens offers parents/families strengths to build upon resulting in family cohesion and appreciation of differences. Lauri also finds providing parent consultation, including the use of Parent Child Interaction Therapy techniques, useful in our attempt to balance our busy, contemporary lives. Lauri’s experience has been in various environments including private practice, a behavioral school, public schools, juvenile justice, court consultation, and in home services.
Approach to Therapy
Lauri’s approach to therapy includes a Bio-psycho-social perspective in order to create an overall sense of wellness. Her theoretical orientation is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. Lauri finds play therapy and art therapy useful when working with children and adolescents.
Lauri believes that learning how to build trust, rapport, and use effective communication are essential life skills that create a
healthy, balanced individual. A therapeutic relationship modeling these skills seems to be essential to the success of most
treatment issues. Lauri finds that utilizing a strength based approach provides individualized treatment and offers clientele
skills that will assist in future endeavors.

Current Services offered: Idividual Child and Adolescent Counseling, Family Counseling, and the use of Parent Child Interaction Therapy techniques.
Lauri's mission is to be effective as a guide and model who will strive to empower and educate children, adolescents, and families to reach their chosen goals. She is happily married and has a 15 year old son. Lauri enjoyed being a stay at home mom for 12 years. She finds pleasure in the outdoors, sports, shopping, and spending time with loved ones.
