Approach to Therapy
Erika’s strength-based, client-centered approach is one that encourages the development of effective communication and problem solving skills. Her goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel accepted and comfortable being themselves. She believes that being heard and understood is what ultimately brings lasting change.. Erika's clients leave sessions with skills and techniques that they can utilize in their everyday life, equipping them on the road of ongoing growth.
Erika regularly works with clients ages 10 and above in the following areas:
Anxiety (OCD, panic, generalized anxiety)
Life Adjustments and transitions
Erika grew up on a dairy farm in north central Kansas where she was taught to value hard work, persistence, and most importantly, family. Her parents provided her and two younger sisters with an unconditional and consistent home that she still views as the place she feels safest to be herself. Just a few of her favorite things include her parka, Sugar Shack candles, Burt’s Bees chap stick, and a good piece of peppermint chewing gum. Erika enjoys being physically active, listening to audio books, baking for others, spending time with her mini Shnauzer named Ezmerelda, and sushi nights with her husband and biggest supporter, Erik.
